NEGATIVE RT-PCR REQUIREMENT SA MGA FULLY VACCINATED TOURIST NA GUSTONG MAGBAKASYON SA BORACAY, BALAK TANGGALIN

Target ng pamahalaang lokal ng Aklan na tanggalin ang negative RT-PCR test requirement sa mga turistang “fully vaccinated” na balak magbakasyon sa Boracay Island.

Ayon kay Aklan Gov. Florencio Miraflores sa BIATF meeting ngayong hapon, tatanggalin na nila ang negative RT-PCR test requirements sa oras na maging fully vaccinated na ang buong isla sa susunod na buwan.

“Once the island is fully vaccinated, we will now allow tourists from the other places in the country that are fully vaccinated and will not already require the RT PCR test, in order to revive our industry.”

Tanging ang vaccination certificate mula sa DICT na lang at iba pang requirements gaya ng online health declaration card at online bookings sa mga accredited hotels ang kakailanganin ng mga turistang nais pumasok sa isla.

“The requirement for the RT-PCR test will now be removed and we will just require our tourist to have just the vaccination certificate.

“We will require the vaccination certificate that is issued by the DICT, because this has its own QR code, just to make sure that the individuals coming to the island are really fully vaccinated.

“We wil make the island, only available to all individuals including the residents and the like, that we will only allow fully vaccinated residents to enter Boracay to ensure that all residents, all individuals coming to island are fully vaccinated in order to protect our residents here in the province and in the island so that we can ensure the complete recovery of our tourism industry,” ani Miraflores.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat na 77.87% na ng mga residente ang fully vaccinated at mayroon nang sapat na bakuna na naipadala sa Boracay para makamit ang fully vaccinated island.

Kapag naabot ang target sa susunod na buwan, ang isla ng Boracay ang magiging kauna-unahang tourist destination sa bansa na 100% fully vaccinated.

Bago ang pandemya ay nakakapagtala pa ng 6000 tourist arrivals ang isla kada araw, pero ngayon ay bumaba ito sa 700 kada araw.

Sa ngayon, mayroon ng 14, 648 tourist arrival sa buwan ng Oktubre na mas mataas kung ikukumpara sa 1,705 lang na tala sa parehong buwan noong nakaraang taon.

Samantala, nasa 131,879 naman ang mga turista na nagbakasyon mula Enero hanggang Oktubre ngayong taon.

Dagdag pa ng kalihim, as of October 18, mayroon ng isang travel agency and tour agency na may government issued safety seal, 299 accommodation establishments na may kabuuang 12,452 rooms at 28 accredited tour guides.

Umaasa si Puyat na tataas pa ang bilang ng mga magbabakasyon sa isla kapag tinanggal na ang RT-PCR test requirement lalo na at paparating na ang pasko.

“We hope that when Boracay finally is fully vaccinated, we will get more tourist lalo’t malapit na ang pasko,” saad ni Puyat.
