PING LACSON, MASAYANG MAGRERETIRO KAPAG NATALO
Balak ni Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson na magretiro sa politika sakaling matalo sa darating na eleksyon.
Aniya ito na ang ikalawa at huling pagtakbo niya sa pagkapangulo dahil magreretiro na siya matapos ang 50 pagsisilbi sa gobyerno.
“This is my last run. I’ve been in the government for 50 years, if I don’t make it… peace and quiet are the two precious rewards in human life. I will retire and live in peace,” ani Lacson.
Kung papalarin, handa naman raw siya na magsilbi pa sa loob ng anim na taon.
“If I make it, I’m prepared and I’m ready to serve for another six years. That’s it. One time or another we will all retire. I would not feel bad,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
May isa pang termino si Lacson para tumakbo bilang senador, pero mas pinili nitong sumabak sa pagkapangulo.
“I have another term in the Senate, modesty aside I could easily make it to the Magic 12… But I chose the pinnacle. I will just try to contribute some more, not just by making legislation, but to make decisions” lahad pa ni Lacson.
“I will happily leave the government, happily leave the public service. Happy with the thought that what I did was self-fulfilling. I did my best in serving the public,” aniya.
Kung matatandaan, tumakbo si Ping sa pagkapangulo noong 2004 at natalo kay former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
