PAGTAAS NG SINGIL NG PHILHEALTH NGAYONG 2023, NAIS SUSPENDIHIN NI PBBM

Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na suspendihin ang pagtaas ng premium rate at income ceiling ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ngayong 2023.

Batay sa memorandum na inilabas mula sa Office of the President na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, ipagpapaliban ang nakatakdang pagtaas sa PhilHealth premium rate mula 4% hanggang 4.5% at income ceiling mula PHP80,000 hanggang PHP90,000 para sa 2023 sa ilalim ng Republic Act ( RA) No. 11223 o ang Universal Health Care (UHC) Act.

Iginiit ni Bersamin na ang “socioeconomic challenges” at ang kahirapan ang ilang rason para suspindehin ang pagtaas premium rate at income ceiling.

“In light of the prevailing socioeconomic challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, and to provide financial relief to our countrymen amidst these difficult times, please be informed that the President has directed PhilHealth to suspend the above mentioned increase in premium rate and income ceiling for Calendar Year 2023, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations,” saad sa memorandum.
