Aklan LGU pinuri ng DSWD VI re: implementasyon ng Localized Social Pension program sa mga matatanda

Pinuri ng Department of Social Welfare and Development Region (DSWD) VI ang Aklan LGU kaugnay sa matagumpay nitong implementasyon ng localized social pension for the elderly.

“We appreciate Local Government Units that implement programs for senior citizens. These are good initiatives that complement the national government’s pursuit to ensure the welfare of the elderly,” wika ni DSWD Regional Director Atty. Carmelo N. Nochete.

Nagsimula ang implementasyon ng Aklan ng localized Social Pension program noong 2017 kung saan ang bawat senior citizens ay mayroong monthly stipends na P500.

Bilang pagsuporta sa nasabing programa, nagpasa ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Aklan ng General Ordinance No. 2022-018, otherwise known as the, “Indigent Senior Citizens, Centenarians, and CWDs Social Amelioration Ordinance.”
