BIDA Bill, muling binuhay ng mga Camsur Rep sa 19th Congress

Binuhay muli ngayong 19th Congress ng mga representative ng Camarines Sur ang kontrobersyal na Boracay Island Development Authority (BIDA) Bill.

Inihain nina Camarines Sur 2nd District Representative Luis Raymund “Lray” F. Villafuerte, Jr., Camarines Sur 5th District Representative Miguel Luis R. Villafuerte, Camarines Sur 1st District Representative Tsuyoshi Anthony G. Horibata at Bicol Saro – Partylist Rep. Nicolas C. Enciso VIII ang House Bill No. 1085 o BIDA Bill nitong July 4, 2022.

Nakasaad sa panukala na ang BIDA ang magpapatuloy sa rehabilitasyon, proteksyon at preservation sa Boracay gayundin ang pagpapatupad ng mga polisiya, plano, programa, at proyekto sa isla.

Magugunitang, ipinag-utos ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang anim na buwang Boracay Closure noong taong 2018 matapos niya itong tawaging “cesspool”.

Binigyang diin din ni Duterte ang pagbuo ng BIDA sa kanyang pinakahuling SONA pero hindi ito naaprubahan bago paman matapos ang kanyang termino.

Una nang naghain ng panukala kaugnay sa pagtatag ng BIDA sa 18th Congress sina Aklan Rep. Teodorico Haresco (HB 4175), Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte (HB 6214), DUMPER PTDA Party-list Rep. Claudine Diana Bautista (HB 6285), Aklan Rep. Carlito Marquez (HB 7265), Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. (HB 7280) at iba pa.
