“Major contributors to the revision were professional and business services, from -6.5 percent to -4.4 percent; construction, from -24.2 percent to -22.6 percent; and real estate and ownership of dwellings, from -13.2 percent to -11.7 percent,” sinabi ni National Statistician at Civil Registrar Dennis Mapa sa isang report.
Ang Net Primary Income (NPI) mula sa Rest of the World and Gross National Income (GNI) ay parehong naitalang tumaas, mula sa -75.8% hanggang -75.6% at -10.9% papuntang -10.6%, ayon sa ito sa first quarter ng 2021.
“The Philippine Statistics Authority revises the GDP estimates based on an approved revision policy (PSA Board Resolution 1, series of 2017-053), which is consistent with international standard practices on national accounts revisions,” pahayag ni Mapa.
The Philippine economy grew
“This in turn allowed more consumption, business and investment activities to take place. The government was seen to have remained supportive through their public expenditures during the quarter,” sabi ni Tantiangco.
“With these, we may see year-on-year growth in household consumption, investments, and government expenditure. Our balance of trade was seen to have widened however as our imports were seen to have grown faster than exports. This in turn is expected to have partially offset the economy’s gains for the quarter,” dagdag niya.
