More Power franchise, constitutional base sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema

Pabor sa MORE Electric and Power Corporation ang naging desisyon ng Korte Suprema sa kinuwestiyon na constitutionality More Power franchise.

Binaliktad ng Supreme Court En Banc ang judgment ng Regional Trial Court ng Mandaluyong City na unconstitutional ang Section 10 at 17 ng RA 11212, ang batas na nagbibigay ng franchise sa MORE Power.

Inihayag ni Mr Roel Castro, President ng MORE Power, na naging matagumpay ang isang taon nilang “legal wrangle.”

“This victory has definitely made every step of the year-long legal wrangle very much worth it despite PECO’s delaying tactics and fake news propaganda against us,” wika ni Castro.

Dagdag pa ni Castro, major win ang desisyon ng high tribunal para sa MORE Power.

“The ruling, more than anything else, is a clear message by the High Tribunal that nothing is over and above the welfare of the general public. This is definitely a major win for all of us, most especially for Iloilo power consumers who spent years, decades even, putting up with all the unbridled violations and inequities of the former utility distributor,” ani Castro.
