18 KARAT NA GOLD TOILET SA BLENHEIM PALACE SA UK, NINAKAW

Tinangay ng mga kawatan ang 18-carat na gintong inidoro (gold toilet) na nagkakahalaga ng 1 million pounds ($1.25 million), mula sa Blenheim Palace, sa England, lugar kung saan isinilang si dating British wartime leader Winston Churchill.

Ang fully-functioning toilet na tinatawag na “America” ay obra ng 58-year-old, Italian artist na si Maurizio Cattelan.

Nilagay umano ang gintong inidoro sa Blenheim Palace para sa isang art exhibit.

Ito ang kauna-unahang solo exhibition ni Cattelan sa U.K. sa loob ng dalawang dekada.

Ayon sa impormasyon, nauna ng naipakita ang “America – gold toilet” sa Guggenheim sa New York, kung saan ipinalit ito sa karaniwang palikuran sa isang banyo sa isang museyo.

Batay kay Detective Inspector Jess Milne ng Thames Valley Police, pinaniniwalaang gumamit umano ang isang gang ng dalawang sasakyan para maipuslit ang artwork.

Bandang alas-4:50 ng madaling araw (British time) nitong Sabado, nang looban ng mga kawatan ang palasyo.

Naaresto naman ng mga pulisya ang isang 66-anyos na lalaki, ngunit hindi pa  narekober ang nasabing artwork.

“The artwork has not been recovered at this time but we are conducting a thorough investigation to find it and bring those responsible to justice,” pahayag ni Detective Inspector Jess Milne.

“Due to the toilet being plumbed into the building, this has caused significant damage and flooding,” wika ng inspector.

Kinumpirma naman ng Blenheim Palace sa kanilang post sa Twitter ang nangyaring pagnanakaw.

Saad ni Palace Chief Executive Dominic Hare “they were saddened by this extraordinary event, but also relieved no-one was hurt”.

“We hope that the wonderful work of our dear friend Maurizio Cattelan becomes immortalised by this stupid and pointless act,” dagdag pa ni Hare.

Samantala, kasalukuyang sarado muna ang World Heritage Site dahil sa patuloy na imbestigasyon sa nangyaring pagnanakaw.
