Cayetano, nag-alok ng resignation bilang House Speaker; kongresista ibinasura ang pagbibitiw nito

IBINASURA ng kongresista ang alok ni Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano na pagbibitiw bilang House Speaker.

Sa botong 184 affirmative, 1 negative, at 1 abstention, hindi tinanggap ang alok ng House Speaker.

Naghain ng resignation sa pwesto si Cayetano isang araw matapos ihayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang term-sharing deal kay Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco.

“I am offering my resignation here and now, to your my dear colleageus. My fate and the fate of the 2021 budget and leadership of the House is in your hands,” pahayag niya sa kanyang talumpati nitong Miyerkules.

Samantala, agad namang nagsabi ng motion to object si Anak-Kalusugan Party-list Representative Mike Defensor.
