P2,000 BUWANANG SAHOD SA MGA STAY-AT-HOME HOUSEWIVES, NAIS IPATUPAD
Nais ng isang mambabatas na magkaroon ng P2,000 buwanang sahod para sa mga stay-at-home housewives.
Sa House Bill 668 o “Housewives Compensation Act” ni Albay Rep. Joey Salceda ang kompensasyon ay para sa mga maybahay na ang economic status ay mababa sa poverty threshold, nagtatrabaho bilang full-time housewives, at walang part-time o home-based na trabaho.
Ang tulong pinansyal ay ire-release ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), sa suporta ng mga kinauukulang lokal na yunit ng pamahalaan.
“The state must therefore recognize the work of stay-at-home women, mothers or housewives as valuable economic activity,” pahayag ni Salceda sa kanyang explanatory note.
“Yes, it is time to make payment for their housework and give them wages for the work they continue to bear out at home. The homemaker or housewife deserves at least an amount equivalent of a minimum wage, considering that household work is also a full-time job,” saad pa ng opisyal.
