PBBM, suportado ng US Congressional Delegation (CODEL) sa muling pangha-harass ng China sa WPS

Nakuha ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang suporta ng US Congressional Delegation (CODEL) matapos ang muling pangha-harass ng China sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

“We share your concern about China’s aggression with regard to many of the issues around the Philippines. We stand with you and we want to continue to stand by you, and with you, and to push that aggression back appropriately,” pahayag ni Senator Kirsten Gillibrand kay President Marcos sa kanyang courtesy call sa Malacañang nitong Martes.

Tiniyak din niya kay Pangulong Marcos ang suporta ng delegasyon sa Pilipinas na itinuturing niyang kaalyado at kaibigan ng Estado Unidos.

Inihayag din nito ang pagkabahala sa pananalakay ng China sa WPS sa kabila ng “international ruling” na pinapaboran ang Pilipinas.

Pinangunahan ni Senator Gillibrand ang CODEL delegation sa courtesy visit kay President Marcos sa Malacañang Palace nitong Martes. Kabilang ito sa dalawang araw na pagbisita sa Pilipinas simula Marso 25 – 26.

Kasama ni Gillibrand ang iba pang senador na sina Jeanne Shaheen, Roger Marshall, Mark Kelly, Cynthia Lummins, Michael Bennet at Representative Adriano Espaillat, na miyembro ng House Committees on Appropriations and Budget.

Pinasalamatan naman ni PBBM ang kanilang pagbisita sa bansa sa kabila ng mga isyu sa politika sa Estados Unidos.

“But I’m happy, very happy to welcome all of you to the Philippines, and I hope that the time that you will spend here can be a productive time where we are able to discuss further the situation concerning the Philippines and the geopolitical complications that we are facing presently,” saad ni Marcos.

Ipinahayag din ni Senador Gillibrand ang kanyang pasasalamat sa pangulo sa mainit nitong pagtanggap sa kanila sa Palasyo. Aniya, nalulugod ito na sila ay nasa “isang magandang bansa” na puno ng optimismo at pag-asa para sa hinaharap.

Binanggit din niya ang kontribusyon ng mga Pilipino sa Estados Unidos. “We are so grateful for our years of friendship. We’re grateful for the steadfast partnership we had economically. We’re grateful to have you as an ally. Each of those roles is essential for the United States and we hope to continue to play those roles,” pahayag nito.

“We have such a strong friendship with the Philippines because we have four million Filipinos in the United States. And we consider them our brothers and sisters, and our neighbors. And so, we’re very grateful for all the contributions that the Filipino community has made in the United States,” dagdag pa ng senadora.

Binigyang-diin din niya na ang mamamayang Pilipino ay nangunguna sa pangangalagang pangkalusugan, teknolohiya, at naglilingkod sa armed forces ng Amerika. Aniya pa, ang Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ay nasa malaking oportunidad lalo na sa usaping pang-ekonomiya, sa larangan ng enerhiya, mineral at komersyo.

“These are important alliances for us and we want to continue to grow on that. We want to build on the trip that Secretary Raimondo just had here with a number of executives from our companies. So, we’re grateful for that,” saad ng senadora.
