Plano ng Pilipinas maglabas ng ‘digitized vaccine certificates’ pagdating ng Setyembre

Pilipinas takdang maglabas ng “digitized vaccine certificates”, sapagkat dumadami na ang mga bansa na gumagawa ng vaccine passes para ma-facilitate ang safe travel sa panahon ng COVID-19 pandemic, ayon sa health official kahapon.

Ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ay nasa proseso na sa paggawa ng isang digital solution na magpapakita sa COVID-19 vaccination status ng isang indibidwal, ayon kay Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje sa isang online press conference.

“By the end of August or beginning of September, we hope we can already start automation. We will have the DICT issue the digitized vaccine certificates,” sabi ni Cabotaje, chair of the National Vaccination Operations Center.

“We want to provide persons with vaccine certificates when they go abroad [so that] mas madali and more standard yung ating vaccination certificates (it will be easier and our vaccination certificates are more standard),” sabi niya.

Wala naman sinabi ni Cabotaje kung ang digital certificate ay gagawing QR code, pero ang mga karagdagang detalye ng digitized vaccine certificates ay ilalabas “in 2 or 3 weeks.”

Bagaman may mga travelers na gumagamit ng International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) galing sa Bureau of Quarantine bilang kapalit sa COVID-19 vaccine pass, ang nasabing document ay hindi isang travel requirement, sabi ni Cabotaje.

Ang ICV ay unang ginagamit upang mapatunayan ang vaccine status ng mga travelers laban sa Yellow fever, sabi niya.

“Not all countries recognized the yellow card… Not all countries require the yellow card,” dagdag pa niya.

Kahit pa nabakunahan ang mga travelers overseas, kailangan pa rin nila sumailalim sa 10-day quarantine at swab test para masigurado na wala silang dinadala na foreign variants ng virus sa Pilipinas, ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
