Kailangan magpatupad ng mas striktong restriction ulit sa bansa dahil sa Delta Variant – Pres. Duterte

Ayon kay President Rodrigo Duterte, kailangan na ulit ibalik sa mas striktong restrictions ang bansa dahil ang mas nakakahawang Delta variant ng Covid-19 ay patuloy na nagbabanta sa Pilipinas.

Sinabi ito ni Duturte sa kanyang taped weekly briefing patungkol sa COVID-19 situation ng bansa.

“The reported local cases in the country is a cause for a serious alarm and concern. It’s redundant, but still it’s good as any warning that can be given to the people,” sabi ni Duterte.

“We may need to reimpose stricter restrictions to avoid mass gatherings and prevent super-spreader events,” dagdag niya.

Kahapon, batay sa Department of Health (DOH) tatlo sa 35 COVID-19 na pasyente na may Delta variant sa bansa ay namatay.

Ayon kay Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire, ang mga namatay ay isang 63-year-old male seafarer mula sa MV Athens na namatay noong Mayo 19; isang 78-year old woman mula sa Baybay, Antique at namatay noong Mayo 30; at isang 58-year-old woman mula sa Pandacan, Manila na namatay noong June 28.

“This is more vicious. It’s more aggressive and fatal,” sinabi ni Duterte said tungkol sa Delta variant.

“That should put us in grave concern because it’s said that it is aggressive, vicious, and more virulent and can cause death faster than the COVID-19. That’s our worry,” dagdag niya.
