Pansamantalang sinuspende ng PhilHealth ang kanilang circular na pumipigil sa mga ospital na makatanggap ng payment claims

Nitong Linggo, ang “controversial new circular” ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) kung saan, hindi makakatanggap ng payment ang mga hospital na nasa ilalim ng imbestigasyon nito ay pansamantalang ipinagpaliban.

Ito’y matapos nagkaroon ng dialogue sa pagitan ng mga ospital, at PhilHealth, kasama si Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega patungkol sa mga na-antalang payment ng mga ospital, batay kay PhilHealth spokesperson Shirley Domingo.

“In the meantime, we suspended muna the implementation of that circular. Kasi hindi puwedeng wala rin tayong ganyan. We have to address insurance fraud,” sinabi niya sa Dobol B TV.

Naglabas ng pahayag si PhilHealth President Dante Gierran nitong Agosto 29, na ang PhilHealth Circular No. 2021-0013 o yung Temporary Suspension of Payment of Claims ay “suspended until further notice” upang ma-address ang “concerns” ng mga healthcare providers.

“All other issuances to address fraud shall remain in effect,” dagdag ni Gierran.

Nakasaad sa PhilHealth Circular No. 2021-0013 na nilabas noong Agosto 20, na “subject of investigations pertaining to fraudulent, unethical acts, and/or abuse of authority” ang pag-suspinde ng payment of claims ng mga ospital.

Noong nakaraang Agosto 24, ang PhilHealth ay hinimok ng mga mambabatas na suriin at suspindihin ang kanilang bagong circular, at sinasabing magreresulta ito sa pagsara ng mga ospital.

Depensa naman ng PhilHealth noon na inisyu nila ang circular “in the spirit of proper fund management and fraud control.

Ang pag-paliban ng implementasyon ng bagong circular ay masayang tinanggap ni Philippine Hospital Association president Dr. Jaime Almora.

“This is a happy culmination of the series of meetings. We express our gratitude for those in Congress that served as our voice,”sinabi niya sa Dobol B TV.
